Toy Haulers 5th Wheels / Hudson, NC

2015 Grand Design Momentum Toy Hauler 328M, $29,750.
If you’re looking for a 5th wheel toy hauler but don’t want an enormous 40+ foot rig then this is the trailer for you. One of it’s best features is that you can access the kitchen, recliners, bathroom and bedroom without opening the slide. The hydraulic leveling system make the trailer easy to set up and is convenient to use when changing tires or servicing the wheel bearings or brakes.

The bedroom is accessed by a regular door and has a regular 60x80 Queen bed instead of the smaller RV queen” beds. The bed is island style” so there’s no climbing over each other to get in or out of bed and it has storage underneath. There are his and her closets in the slide with 2 drawers under each. Each side of the bed has a nightstand with cabinets above and below and there are cabinets above the bed. The bedroom has a wall mounted TV and it’s own air conditioner. The bedroom closet doors are mirrored and the mirrors are covered over with window film which can be removed. We installed a decorative board with 5 double coat hooks on the wall below the TV.

The bathroom is accessed through a pocket sliding door and has a residential size shower with 3 piece sliding doors that can easily accommodate most tall people. There is a medicine cabinet above the sink and a cabinet above the toilet. The bathroom gets heat and air from ducts and has a powered exhaust fan.

The kitchen & living area has the main A/C unit which is ducted into the other areas. The steps have an opening where the hose for the central vacuum plugs in. The TV above the fireplace quit and was replaced with the outside TV that was mounted in the slide. The fireplace was replaced 11/23. The pantry is large with 4 shelves and floor storage that can hold a lot of supplies. The 4-seat recliners in the slide have been replaced on 3/24 with a Brad & Hall recliner loveseat and end tables with storage . Extra lighting was installed above the double sink. There is a 18 cubic ft double door refrigerator freezer, a microwave and oven with 3 burner top. There are lots of cabinets for storage. There is a folding table if you need extra counter space. The CO/propane detector under the stove was just replaced.

The 10’ garage area is separated by a sliding glass door and has the optional A/C unit and party porch. The garage has a happijac bed system which is an upper bunk and lower bench seats that can be configured for sleaping or set up with a table in between for dining. All can be raised to transport cargo in the garage. The Happijac bed rails were drilled and extra clips installed to secure bed in raised position while transporting cargo. There are also washer/dryer connections. An extra 5000 lb tie down ring was installed on each side of the garage floor. We installed another decorative board with 7 double coat hooks on the forward wall, above them are 2 cabinets separated by a shelf. A cable hatch was installed in the corner of the garage floor to run extension cords outside if desired. Outside the garage on the drivers side is a fuel station with a 20 gallon tank, this also supplies the generator.

The trailer brakes have been upgraded to self adjusting units. The suspension was upgraded with MORryde heavy-duty wet bolt & shackle kit.The roof is FlexArmor with a lifetime no leak guarantee. All tires are 14 ply rated load range G trailer tires installed 12/23. A Plexiglas sliding window was added in the pass through storage wall to inspect plumbing. Extra elevated LED brake/turn lights were added to rear of trailer and a Furrion back up camera was installed.

The trailer is 9 years old and looks it because the fiberglass is sun faded. The 18’ awning fabric was replaced less than a year ago. The plastic fenders on each side have cracks at many of the mounting screws and were reinforced with small brackets. Less than a year ago I installed an extra battery, both batteries can be unplugged with Anderson power connectors I installed. The Onan 5.5kw generator has been run regularly and a 120V outled was added to the storage area where I kept a pancake air compressor. Cheap factory circuit breakers for the hydraulic system were upgraded with Bussman 80 amp breaker.
